Recognizing that a small fraction of a company’s human capital is a key determinant of competitive advantage, Lou founded STG to provide clients with consulting services tailored to enhancing senior executives’ ability to lead in the execution of strategy. He has delivered executive development services to senior executives at Fortune 500 client companies, as well as to clients at small, entrepreneurial firms, in an array of industries. In addition, Lou has assisted Boards of Directors in evaluating the effectiveness of both the Board and the Company’s CEO. Recent and past STG clients include Allergan, American Capital, Capital One, Carmax, First Energy, InfraSource, Medtronic, Shell Oil, Spherion and The Society for Human Resource Management.

Prior to founding STG, Lou's career included senior corporate executive roles responsible for human resources at two large public firms in the energy and industrial sectors, where he successfully worked directly for CEOs and with Boards of Directors and other senior executives on strategic talent management issues. The principal focus of his work at both firms was in strengthening the executive resources through acquisition and/or internal development.

A major portion of his prior career was at General Electric Company in executive and managerial human resources roles where key responsibilities included succession management and identifying and developing high-potential talent for a number of business units. In 30 years of corporate experience, Lou has performed strategic talent management work throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Lou is a member of the Human Resource Planning Society and the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology. He has authored articles on Executive Assessment and Succession, spoken at national conferences on Leadership Development and been a guest lecturer at universities on developing executive talent.

Ross E. Bailey
Principal and Senior Consultant
Ross specializes in executive assessment, succession management, coaching and effectiveness of senior executive teams.
Prior to joining Strategic Talent Group, Ross’ experiences included serving as the senior corporate human resources executive at General Tire in Charlotte, N.C, where he led significant restructuring activities resulting in the company achieving profitability. The majority of Ross’ corporate experience was at General Electric where he progressed through a succession of managerial and executive human resources positions leading to serving as the head human resources executive for one of GE’s 12 major business units. Ross also served as a Senior Consultant and head of Corporate Organization Planning and Development responsible for all internal consulting in the area of organization design and effectiveness. While at GE, he was in the original group of senior human resources executives selected and trained to conduct Career Assessment Interviews of high potential GE executives viewed as candidates for corporate officer positions. Ross is a graduate of Tulane University and resides in Charlotte, N.C. As a principal with STG, Ross is engaged in executive assessment, coaching and new leader integration consulting activities.
